Das Lysser Open, ein siebenrundiges Schachturnier
organisiert durch den Schachclub Lyss-Seeland im Rest. Post, Lyss, wurde
in diesem Herbst zum vierten Mal ausgetragen. Sieger des Turniers wurde Bernhard Meyer (FL 2201), Thun, mit 6 Punkten. Er verlor überraschend in der Startrunde, siegte in der Folge sechs Mal und zog in der Schlussrunde alleine an die Spitze, weil IM Hansjürg Kaenel (FL 2358), Ostermundigen, Sieger der drei vorherigen Lysser Open-Auflagen, am Schlusstag das dritte Remis einstecken musste. Vittorio D’Arcangelo (FL 1894), Ins, Renzo Castagna (FL 2187), Biel, und Achim Schneuwly (FL 2106), Düdingen, luchsten alle mit Schwarz dem Internationalen Meister ein Remis ab. Erwähnenswert ist die Leistung von Max Vögeli (FL
1786), Klingnau, mit dem vierten Schlussrang. Er stand nach der vierten
Runde verlustpunktlos solo an der Spitze, verlor in der 5. Runde gegen IM
Hansjürg Kaenel, fing sich mit einem 15zügigen Sieg gegen Rudolf
Pleniniger (FL 1997), Mühleberg, wieder auf und spielte in der
Schlussrunde erneut am 1. Brett.

Das Lysser Open 2001 fand ab 24. Oktober 2001, jeweils am Mittwochabend, 19.00 Uhr, im Rest. Post, Lyss, wiederum als 7-rundiges Turnier nach Schweizer System, statt.

Das Lysser Open, ein siebenrundiges Schachturnier organisiert
durch den Schachclub Lyss-Seeland im Rest. Post, Lyss, wurde in diesem Herbst
zum dritten Mal ausgetragen.
Erfreulich war, dass die Teilnehmerzahl von 24, über 30 auf
33 Spielerinnen und Spieler erneut gestiegen ist. Spürbar war dieser Zuwachs
hauptsächlich in der Stärkenklasse unmittelbar hinter der schmalen Spitze; ein
Faktor, welcher das Turnier wesentlich bereichert hat.
Die erwähnte schmale Spitze heisst Hansjürg
Kaenel,
Ostermundigen, der das Turnier zum dritten Mal gewann, und zwar diskussionslos
mit sieben souveränen Siegen.
Eine leichte Überraschung stellt Platz zwei von Hans Suri, Studen, dar. Der Senior, lange Zeit Leiter des Schachfestivals Biel, bringt die
Routine eines Turnierfuchses mit.
Für die Plätze drei bis fünf entschied die Feinwertung zu
Gunsten der Reihenfolge Rudolf Pleininger, Bern, vor Dominique Wiesmann, Biel,
und Ueli Guggisberg, Rüti b. B.
Max Vögeli, Klingnau, belegte Platz 6 und gewann zudem den
Spezialpreis für den besten Spieler mit weniger als 1'800 Führungspunkten.
Beste Dame war auf Platz 15 Maria Grandjean aus Cortébert.
Erwähnenswert ist auch die Leistung von Erika Briner, Lyss,
welche sich nach 4 Runden mit 3 Punkten im Spitzenfeld tummelte, dann aber
leider keine weiteren Punkt mehr holte. Sie verbuchte dennoch den höchsten
Führungspunktenzuwachs aller Teilnehmer, spielte also gemessen an ihrer
relativen Stärke am besten. (Bleiben wir ehrlich: Hansjürg Kaenel konnte
diesen Wert mangels Gegnerstärke nicht erreichen.)
Klubpräsident Andreas Schmid konnte am Schlussabend vom 12.
12. 2001 auf ein familiäres, sportlich faires und umkämpftes zurückblicken.
Das Blitzturnier zum Turnierausklang gewann Hansjürg Kaenel vor Ruedi
Pleininger und Markus Vonlanthen.

Der Schachclub Lyss-Seeland hat mit dem Lysser Open zum
zweiten Mal ein offenes Rundenturnier organisiert, welches in den Monaten
Oktober und November nach Schweizer System in 7 Runden jeweils an den
Mittwochabenden im Saal des Rest. Post, Lyss, ausgetragen wurde.
Mit 30
Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmern war die Beteiligung 25 % höher als bei
der ersten Austragung im Jahr 1999.
Sieger des Turniers und damit seiner klaren Favoritenrolle gerecht wurde der Ostermundiger Hansjürg Kaenel. Beim souveränen Resultat von 7 Siegen in 7 Runden kommt nicht zum Ausdruck, dass Hansjürg Kaenel auch gefordert wurde. Es ist aber gerade das Markenzeichen des ehemaligen Schweizer Meisters, dass er gegen jeden Gegner sehr ernst- und gewissenhaft zur Sache geht.
Den zweiten Platz erkämpfte sich Bruno Vögeli, Biel,
mit 5,5 Punkten.
Ueli Guggisberg, Rüti b. B., kam mit 5.0 Punkten und
30.0 Buchholzwertung knapp vor Dominique Wiesmann, Biel, 5.0 Punkte und
29.5 Buchholzwertung, auf den dritten Rang.
Beste Dame war Maria Grandjean, Cortebert, mit 4.5
Punkten auf dem sechsten Platz, hinter dem Studener und ehemaligen Bieler
Turnierfestival Organisator Hans Suri.
Klubpräsident Andreas Schmid konnte am Schlussabend vom 06. 12. 2000 auf ein gelungenes, sportlich faires und an dramatischen Partien reiches Turnier zurückblicken. Das Blitzturnier zum Turnierausklang gewann - in Abwesenheit von Hansjürg Kaenel - Bruno Vögeli vor Hans Suri und Miodrag Bogosavljevic.

Hansjürg Kaenel, Ostermundigen, Sieger des erstmals in dieser Form ausgetragenen Schachturniers in Lyss, vor dem ebenfalls ungeschlagenen Dani Summermatter, Bern.
Während Jahren lief die Clubmeisterschaft des
Schachclubs Lyss-Seeland nach gleichem Strickmuster ab: Obschon als
offenes Turnier - also auch für Nicht-Vereinsmitglieder - ausgeschrieben,
beteiligten sich mit ganz kleinen Ausnahmen nur Vereinsmitglieder und die
Hierarchie innerhalb des Vereins wurde mit jeder Durchführung noch klarer
manifestiert, sprich, Überraschungen blieben aus: Der Anreiz zum
Mitmachen schwand. Stärkere Spieler trugen sich mit dem Gedanken, statt
der eigenen Vereinsmeisterschaft ein stärker besetztes Turnier auswärts
zu besuchen.
Ein willkommener Sponsor ermöglichte es dem Klub, mit seiner
Vereinsmeisterschaft eine neue, offensive Richtung einzuschlagen. Für das
"Lysser Open 99" wurden Schachspielerinnen und -spieler in der
weiteren Region angeschrieben. Das Turnier wurde für die Führungsliste
des Schweizerischen Schachverbandes gemeldet. Für die ersten 10 Plätze
wurden Barpreise ausgesetzt. Das Echo blieb nicht aus.
24 Spielerinnen und Spieler, davon 8 des organisierenden Klubs, bestritten das "Lysser Open" als siebenrundiges Turnier (Bedenkzeit: 1. Zeitkontrolle nach 36. Zug mit 90 Minuten, dann 30 Minuten für Rest der Partie) nach Schweizer System, gespielt jeweils an Donnerstagabenden im Saal des Rest. Post, Lyss. Hauptakteure der Organisation waren Raymond Peter für das Material und Peter Wüthrich für die Administration.
Das Teilnehmerfeld war attraktiv, nahmen doch mit Hansjürg Kaenel, Ostermundigen, Internationaler Meister und ehemaliger Schweizer Meister, und Dani Summermatter, Bern, nationaler Meister, zwei Teilnehmer der Extraklasse an diesem Turnier teil. Sowohl für die ambitionierten, stärkeren VereinsspielerInnen wie auch für die mehr Freizeit-SchächelerInnen war es ein besonderes Erlebnis, zusammen mit nationalen Cracks am selben Tisch oder gar am selben Brett spielen und dann auch analysieren zu können.
Weil Dani Summermatter in der 4. Runde überraschend gegen Dominik Sutter, Interlaken, ein Remis abgab, konnte sich Hansjürg Kaenel in der Schlussrunde gegen Dani Summermatter mit einem Unentschieden begnügen, um mit 6½ Punkten den ersten Platz sicher zu halten.
Die Ranglistenspitze: 1. Hansjürg Kaenel, Ostermundigen, 6½ Punkte; 2. Dani Summermatter, Bern, 6 Punkte; 3. Ramseier Jürg, Bern, 5 Punkte; 4. Guggisberg Ueli, Detligen, 5 Punkte; 5. Peter Raymond, Lyss, 5 Punkte; 6. Schärer Beat, Kallnach, 5 Punkte; 6. Dominik Sutter, Interlaken, 4½ Punkte.
Am letzten Donnerstag Abend folgte als Abschluss im Sieberhus ein Blitzturnier und die Rangverkündigung. Viele Spielerinnen und Spieler haben bereits erklärt, sie werden das Turnier auch im nächsten Jahr besuchen.
Die Klubverantwortlichen werden über die Zukunft des Anlasses zu bestimmen haben. Allgemein ist damit zu rechnen, dass der eingeschlagene Weg mit dem "Lysser Open 2000" weitergeführt wird.
